Call and Response is dedicated completely to being IN THE ZONE, where the idea of being caught up in the moment between boredom and anxiety fosters innovation. Student artists will present their interpretation(s) of what it means to experience the Covid-19 “zone.”

Amy Williams plays John Cage Sonatas and Interludes

The groundbreaking Sonatas and Interludesby John Cage (1912-1992) is made up of 20 short pieces: 16 sonatas (structured in two-part or three-part forms) and 4 freely structured interludes.

Pianist, composer and University of Pittsburgh faculty member  Amy Williams played the complete Sonatas and Interludes by John Cage with a prepared piano using screws and nails and found items.
